The Community Helpers program is a peer helping program used successfully in many different communities. The main idea behind the Community Helpers program is that "in every community there are people to whom others naturally turn to when they need help. They are people from all walks of life and all ages. The one thing that they all have in common is that they are considered by others to be helpers". This program will help provide the skills for communities to identify these helpers and work with them to strengthen their helping abilities through training and on-going support. The intent of this program is to build a bridge between the informal and formal support for youth in our community.

The Camrose Open Door is set up to provide short term and transitional supportive housing to those aged 16-24. When in our supportive housing, youth are provided with food, drink, a bed, bathroom, closet space, and a secure living environment. Youth in the supportive housing are expected to follow the guidelines put in place by The Open Door.
The Camrose Open Door aims to provide an environment where youth feel comfortable and secure. Outreach makes an effort to set up appointments with youth at risk. The Camrose Open Door provides counseling sessions with on-site counselors. Our counselors provide support to youth, families and other community members.
The PEER Connections program aids youth in acquiring employment through skill development and work experience in our Cafe Connections .Drop in resume-writing and other employment services including career planning are also available.
The 24-hour Outreach helpline is available for any youth who are concerned with any aspect of their lives. Our helpline is available 24 hours if you need to talk to someone about your situation at home. We also have on-site counselors that are willing to talk with youth about things at home and possible solutions.
