Through professional relationships, The Open Door will direct participants to apply to work with valued employers. As part of the YESS program, our participants will be placed with a one week (36.5 hour) full time employment opportunity. Employers are eligible to have some (if not all) of the 36.5 hours reimbursed by the Camrose Open Door upon hiring the participant. Participants registered into the Youth Employment Skills Strategy program will have access to a variety of services through our office such as:
Job Skill Training
On the Job Training
Provision of Work Materials and Proper PPE
Outsourced Training
Health Supports
Mentorship: The Open Door Employment Coordinators are available to help participants in person, over the phone or virtually
Coordinators offer a check-in one week post hire to ensure participants and employers are satisfied
*****Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS)****** "As a Canadian employer who has seen a drop in revenue during the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible for a subsidy to cover part of your employee wages, retroactive to March 15, 2020. This subsidy will enable you to re-hire workers, help prevent further job losses, and ease your business back into normal operations."
